Aims Academy was founded in August of 1987. The school began its existence with an eight-member faculty with over 12 years of adult education and Food & Beverage Industry experience. To date, Aims has graduated over 20,000 students from its full range of courses. Aims Academy is approved and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission.
Aims Academy was granted national Accreditation in 1990, by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Today, Southern Association is known as C.O.E. Aims Academy was granted Trainer Certification and authorized to instruct a Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission - Approved Seller Training Course by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission in 1987.
Today the school remains one of the top ten schools statewide for Certification training. In June 1989, Aims was granted initial Provisional Status (provisional being the approval status for first year schools) as an approved school for the Texas Department of Health, Division of Food and Drugs. On March 20, 1991, Aims received a full Certificate of Accreditation from the Texas Department of Health as an approved training provider for the State of Texas Department of Health Food Protection Management Program.

The training at Aims Academy School of Culinary Arts covers all the diverse areas of culinary arts including knife skills, fabrication, food service management, practical baking & pastries, food service production, and a directed internship at an area hotel or restaurant.
Daily hands-on practice provides our students with the opportunity to master competencies through a developing sequence of recipes designed to cover the cooking techniques, preparation and presentation of a wide range of food products. Knowledge and understanding of the identification, selection, classification, storage, preparation and cooking of foods are presented in daily lectures. Personal palate development and an understanding of the compatibility of food and wines are also included in the culinary arts program.
Aims Academy School of Culinary Arts provides an excellent opportunity for the hobbyist or casual chef to practice in the surroundings of our professional teaching kitchens. All classes involve hands-on preparation under the direction of one of our prominent Executive Chef instructors and participants have the opportunity to taste everything that is prepared.
